Case study: Angela (egg sharing)

Angela Prior is 32, married and has four children aged 10 and under. Increasingly, she was seeing some of her friends struggling to conceive, and feeling very lucky to have her four children. Angela realised she could do something to help women that may be experiencing infertility. She‘d heard that it was possible to donate your eggs, so she started to look into the process involved and how it could be feasible for her as a busy mum. Angela went on to donate her eggs earlier this year and her eggs were given to two anonymous egg recipients. One of these women is now pregnant.

Angela says that, for her, the process of egg donation was straightforward and she would definitely do it again. Since the donation, she has talked about her experience with her friends and family and her enthusiasm has proved to be contagious. Two of her friends, who had not been aware of egg donation, have also now gone on to each donate their eggs.
